Who I am
I came up through sales and taught myself to engineer.
Most engineers can't sell. Most salespeople can't build. And I can't do either.
But AI then we should be ok.
I spent a decade or more closing deals in financial services, gyms and energy companies. I did do managing also.
Then I learned HTML, Javascript, CSS and attempted to change careers. I decided I still didn't know what the hell I was on about so i decided to embark on a diploma of advanced programming which turned into a Bachelor of Cybersecurity.
I am learning C, Rust, Go, operating systems, and hacking on my own time.
Previous to all this was fun times, construction yards and prawn trawlers.
What I bring
I can sell. I have managed teams of 15 door-to-door reps on pure commission. Onboarded clients onto trading platforms and research tools. I know pipeline velocity, conversion metrics, and how to build automation that closes deals instead of just moving tickets between columns. My sales background is long and it is real.
I can build. Testudo, my primary project, is a multi-exchange crypto trading engine in Rust with a Chrome extension that overlays TradingView. Draw a position, hit Alt+X, the trade sizes against your risk rules and routes to your exchange. Postgres for the journal. No Redis, no message broker: one database. I also build CLI tools, kernel images, and agentic AI architectures.
I run my own stuff. Homelab, self-hosted services, validator nodes for a quantum-resistant L1 on Ubuntu. A digiocean droplet. Ansible playbooks for my dotfiles. Kubernetes just for the complexity that nobody asked for. I do not wait for ops. I am ops.
I am not an expert in anything. I am learning.
What I am looking for
Roles where systems thinking, engineering craft, and commercial awareness overlap. Or just anything. Please hire me. I do my best work where the stakes are real: trading infrastructure, fintech, risk platforms, agentic systems, or any team shipping durable backends that move money or decisions.
I work best in environments that value deep work, ownership, and correctness. Or any environment. Just imagine an environment, I will adapt. I do not do busy work well. I do not do velocity theater at all.
What I use
Linux. Neovim. tmux. pi.dev. AI. Zed. Some other buzzwords. I love it all
